magazine as one of the 10 Best Plants in North America. The company, a joint venture between York International s Bristol compressor group and United Technologies Carrier Carlyle division, will be presented with the "Best Plants Award" at a ceremony at its plant and headquarters location in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
For each of the last 10 years, the "Best Plants Award" has been given to 10 manufacturing facilities nationwide. This year s winners were selected from a record pool of 419
nominations.
"These plants are the finest in North America and among the best in the world," said Editor-in-Chief John R. Brandt. "Their success stories tales of teamwork and
achievement against long odds are inspirations for managers everywhere."

editors evaluated nominees. Plants reported performance metrics and practices in such categories as benchmarking, community involvement, customer and supplier relations, employee involvement, environment and safety programs, inventory management, manufacturing operations and flexibility, market results, productivity, quality, and use of technology.

The plant has reduced defect rates by more than two-thirds since 1997. With nearly 100 computer numerical control (CNC) production machines in the machine shop, Scroll Technologies has the
ability to double its current output.
